Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often about how finkurs works, what it monitors, and what to expect when you connect a portfolio. If something isn't covered here, reach out through the contact page.
What does finkurs actually do?
finkurs is a monitoring and signal layer that sits on top of your portfolio data. It tracks price action, volatility, and a set of rule-based indicators, then surfaces flags when defined conditions are met. It is designed to support your own review process, not to replace it.
Does finkurs execute trades automatically?
No. finkurs does not place orders or move funds. It generates observations and alerts that you review and act on through your own brokerage or custodian. Every decision remains with you.
How is a portfolio connected to the system?
Onboarding starts with the "Initialize Portfolio" form. From there, an account is provisioned and connection instructions are sent to you. The exact setup steps depend on the data source and are confirmed during onboarding rather than assumed in advance.
What kind of signals can I expect to see?
Signals are rule-based flags tied to price thresholds, volatility shifts, and other configurable conditions described on the Advantages page. They are labeled clearly (for example, buy / hold / reduce style tags) so you can scan status at a glance.
Can I turn specific alert types on or off?
Yes. Alert categories are configurable through toggles in your dashboard, similar to the controls shown in the product preview. This lets you tune the feed to the signal types you find most relevant.
Is this financial advice?
No. Content, alerts, and figures produced by finkurs are illustrative and informational. They are not personalized investment, tax, or legal advice, and they are not a guarantee of any outcome. Speak with a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
How fast are alerts delivered after a condition triggers?
Latency depends on the data feed and the specific condition being monitored. General expectations are outlined on the Advantages page; exact timing is not guaranteed for every asset or market condition.
What happens to my data once it's connected?
Portfolio data is used to generate the monitoring and signal features described on this site. Details on handling, retention, and third-party access are set out in our Privacy Policy, which we recommend reviewing before connecting an account.
Can I disconnect my portfolio at any time?
Yes. You can disconnect a portfolio from your dashboard whenever you choose. Doing so stops further monitoring; any prior alerts remain part of your account history unless you request otherwise.
Is finkurs suitable for beginners?
finkurs is built to be readable at a glance, but it assumes you understand the basics of holding and managing a portfolio. It works best as a monitoring companion alongside your existing knowledge and process, not as a substitute for learning the fundamentals.
Who can I contact if I have a question not listed here?
